Our family has always loved pets.  We’ve had rabbits, cats, dogs, birds and fish.  The list goes on…  We even did some pet-sitting for a skunk (you know, they can get sun burned so I was very careful on our walks) and a spider monkey named Jojo!

But the most influential experience a pet had in my life was after my daughter Wendy was killed by a drunk driver.  I couldn’t go back to the teaching career I had up until then, because if I couldn’t be there for my students 100%, I had no business being in the classroom.  So it was my rescue dog, Brooklyn, that got me through the frequent dark and difficult times.  My husband said to me, ” Since you love animals so much, you should start a pet-sitting/dog walking business here in Huntington Beach.”
